Built From the Dirt Up: Why Groundwork Matters

A sports court is only as good as what lies beneath it. The synthetic turf is the finishing touch, but the structural base determines whether your court stays flat, drains properly, and performs for 15+ years. We focus on getting everything right under the surface before the turf goes down.

Engineered Sub-Bases

Heavy aggregate compaction, specialized asphalt courses, and site drainage tailored specifically to local ground conditions.

Hard-Court Restoration

Converting an old court? We clean, level, repair expansion cracks, and grind high points on existing asphalt or concrete pads before laying turf.

Poured Concrete Edging

We install robust poured concrete mowing strips as standard. They lock in the base aggregate and easily handle school tractor mowers without warping or rotting like timber.

Single-Source Delivery

One point of contact from start to finish. We manage civil site preparation, concrete works, turf laying, line marking, and net/hoop hardware installation.

Sports Court & Turf Options

We source an extensive range of specialized sports turfs—from ITF and FIH rated competition surfaces to budget-compliant school options.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do you recommend poured concrete mowing strips over timber edges?

Timber curbing can warp or rot over time when exposed to soil moisture. Poured concrete mowing strips provide a permanent, clean border that locks in the base aggregate and easily withstands heavy commercial groundskeeping equipment and tractor mowers commonly used at schools.

How do you convert an old concrete or asphalt tennis court?

We assess each hard court on its own merits. Most asphalt or concrete courts are cleaned thoroughly, high spots leveled, and expansion cracks filled before synthetic sports turf is laid directly over top to restore total surface playability.

Can you fit multiple sports onto a small residential half-court?

Yes. We design multi-sport layouts that fit your exact backyard footprint. By using permanent, color-coded line markings (e.g., white for tennis/pickleball, blue for basketball), you can combine multiple sports onto a single compact pad.

Can you work within strict school board budget limits?

Yes. We assist school committees and boards with CAD site layouts and stage-by-stage construction plans. We offer premium competition turfs as well as durable, budget-friendly multi-sport options designed to meet board sign-off requirements.
